A world of folk
new and norwegian lifestyles
July 5th – October 5th, 2008
Stavanger2008 and Li Edelkoort are pleased to announce the launch of A World of Folk; a celebration of new and Norwegian lifestyles as part of the European Capital of Culture’s summer programme. The exhibition will assemble the works of more than 100 of Norway’s established and emerging designers, craftspeople, artists and creatives, alongside key European players that have influenced the international modern folk movement.
The exhibition marks a significant trend Edelkoort forecasts towards a more unplugged lifestyle; announcing an optimistic period of creation where traditional techniques and rural design inspirations merge with new technologies and young mentalities intent on redefining a better future.
